Meet Sheridan's Carver

Dannie was raised in Bountiful, Utah and he has always had an interest in the outdoors, hunting and carving. As he grew up he watched his grandfather and father carve various things with wood. After a trip to Hawaii a few years ago Dannie caught the "carving bug" as he learned more about the bone and wood carving he saw there. Dannie is completely self-taught and he has enjoyed the process of improving his skills as he spends more time carving. He started by making Tiki status for his five daughters and then he progressed to carving bone necklaces. He now also carves moose, deer and elk antlers. Dannie has spent time researching the art of scrimshaw to add another element to his carved pieces. Dannie carving is inspired by the artwork of many cultures he has seen through research and travel and no two pieces are the same. His wife Sherilyn and daughters Aimee, Laci, Ashlie, Lyndsy, and Kassidy have also designed some of his pieces.
